Dupuytren’s contracture

Dupuytren’s contracture is a condition that leads to abnormal flexion of the fingers, mainly the fingers of the hand and the little finger, through the formation of fibrous plates in the subcutaneous tissue of the hand. Treatment methods for Dupuytren’s contracture aim to remove the resulting contractures, allow the fingers to spread freely and restore functional comfort. At Medicus Clinic, we use non-invasive methods such as physiotherapy, as well as performing procedures to cut and/or remove altered bands of the palmar tendon. This can be carried out in two ways – percutaneously with a thick needle or 'open’ surgically.
