Exploratory laparoscopy

An exploratory laparoscopy is the insertion of a camera into the abdominal cavity to assess internal organs. It is used when there are discrepancies between the results of imaging studies (ultrasound, CT, MRI), or when their description is unclear. In addition to inspection of the abdominal cavity during exploratory laparoscopy, it is possible to take specimens and to release (cut) intestinal adhesions, which are usually present after previous procedures.
