Ganglion treatment – conservative and surgical methods
Ganglion treatment at Medicus Clinic includes both conservative methods and surgery, tailored to the individual needs of the Patient. In the early stages of the disease, conservative treatment is recommended, which is based on pharmacotherapy with steroids, temporary abstinence from forceful activities and relieving pressure on the limb. Physiotherapy, including kinesitherapy, which improves joint stabilisation and increases the range of mobility, also plays an important role. In addition, we offer patients modern therapeutic techniques such as phonophoresis, laser therapy, magnetotherapy, iontophoresis, ultrasound therapy and kinesiotaping to support the healing process.
When conservative treatment is not sufficient, puncture of the ganglion with possible administration of an anti-inflammatory drug is used. In situations requiring surgical intervention, the procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia with minimal skin incisions. During the operation, our surgical team performs a precise procedure to remove the cyst, including a thorough exploration of the surrounding structures to prevent possible recurrence.
