Laser and surgical removal of skin lesions

Skin lesions are any abnormality in the appearance, texture or colour of the skin that stands out from the surrounding healthy tissue. They can be congenital (e.g. a pigmented nevus) or acquired (including warts, fibromas, moles, warts, cysts, as well as cancerous lesions). Indications for their removal may be not only aesthetic but also health issues .

Does every skin lesion need to be removed?

Skin lesions can be benign and harmless, but there are also malignant lesions that can be the beginning of a cancer, such as melanoma. Therefore, any new lesion is worth consulting a dermatologist who will carry out a dermatoscopic examination and, if necessary, recommend further diagnosis or removal of the lesion.

Dermatologist – laser removal of skin lesions

Laser skin lesion removal is a modern method that is safe and minimises the risk of scarring. The laser precisely vaporises the unwanted tissue without affecting the healthy skin around it. This ensures that the procedure is precise and healing is fast and without complications.
Laser removal of skin lesions is ideal for:

 warts,
 fibroids,
 warts,
 moles and small pigmented nevi,
 lesions of a benign nature.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, takes a few minutes and does not require hospitalisation.

Removal of skin lesions on the face

Facial skin is delicate and particularly prone to scarring, so the precision of the treatment is crucial – and this is provided by the laser. Laser technology allows precise removal of the lesion without damaging healthy tissue, significantly reducing the risk of scarring .
Compared to traditional surgical excision, laser skin lesion removal provides shorter healing times, no need for sutures and less risk of bleeding. The laser energy simultaneously removes the lesion and closes the blood vessels, so the treatment area heals quickly and aesthetically.

Surgical removal of skin lesions – Wroclaw

Removal of skin lesions with a laser is the method of choice for aesthetic reasons, but not in all cases a treatment with it is possible. Surgery may be necessary, especially if the lesion is suspected to be a malignant tumour. The procedure is then accompanied by the collection of material for histopathological examination, which allows a definitive diagnosis to be made. Another indication for surgery may be the deep location of a lesion that the laser would not be able to remove in its entirety.
Although the procedure is more invasive and requires sutures, in experienced hands it produces a very good aesthetic result. At Medicus Clinic in Wroclaw, our experienced surgeons and dermatologists will take care of this.
