Removal of endometriosis

 The surgical removal of endometriosis is usually performed by one of two methods – laparoscopically or via laparotomy. The selected method of endometriosis removal depends on the severity of the disease and also the location of the endometriosis foci. During laparoscopy, endometriosis is removed or its foci ablated, and intraoperatively tissue sections are also examined to exclude malignant tumours.
